What is Yakimono 21?

Yakimono 21 -- a Non-Profit Organization (NPO), was formed to improve the quality of life in the city of Ebetsu, Hokkaido, Japan. This organization does various activities involving the citizens to make our city a more livable community.

Aim of Foundation

The ceramic industry has played a vital role in the history of Ebetsu.

Ebetsu ceramics can trace its origins back 10,000 years to “Ebetsu earthenware.” Through human skill and wisdom, ceramics is now a technologically advanced industry with endless future possibilities.

Yakimono, which means “ceramics”, is the symbol of Ebetsu, and Yakimono 21 would like to ensure ceramics continue to play a vital role in the cultural, artistic, and environmental aspects of the community, and remain prominent in the urban landscape for the coming century. The Non-Profit Organization “Yakimono 21” was formed in the hopes of establishing our city as a unique and affluent community full of vitality. Utilizing the experience, information and connections of obtained from the Ceramic Art Fair, this organization is committed to community improvement.

Goal of Yakimono 21

This corporate organization’s objective is to contribute to our community by positive growth in promoting the historical, cultural, artistic, academic, and industrial characteristics of ceramics through community planning.
