Using old bricks for his work

Viewing of the historical brick factory on February 4, 2001 coincided with the unveiling of "The Gate of Wind," an arch-shaped monument by Ebetsu sculptor Mido Harada. Many citizens warmly participated in this event, in spite of the biting cold weather on that day.

While figure brick
Old bricks speak to me
The vices of brick burners and the sounds of ages
Even a long brick cannot be made a mere thing
Listening intently, I must hear all
Inside the now curtain covered factory freezing at 15 below Celsius
Before being at an artist, I must become simply myself
Before the soul of discarded brick
Being a craftsman is enough
